A NEW ACTIVE PARTNERSHIP
I want to work with you and the police to develop a new and active partnership. This will rely on your contribution to understand how you want policing delivered in your community. The police have finite resources and are under threat every day to reduce their numbers which may limit our aspirations. Nonetheless, there are some basic issues that need to be addressed immediately.
Perhaps you feel that the police do not have time for you and are not interested in your problems. Maybe you find it difficult to contact officers and access information from them. Yet increasingly the police feel bound by processes, paperwork and more recently the reduction in resources that prevents them from having a closer relationship with you.
But there is an answer to all this – even in the wake of unprecedented cuts to policing.
I can bridge the gap between you and the police to find a solution which works for all. I have more than 30 years experience and knowledge of how to make your communities safer. You will have the opportunity to inform these improvements because I will listen to your views and use your knowledge and experiences to inform me.
I will work to give police officers the ability to spend more time with you.
For you this means I will:

For you this means I will:
- Find out what you want
- Identify the crimes that concern you the most and impede the development of your community
- Listen to the needs of the existing business community and ensure entrepreneurs are attracted to a safe West Midlands where they can open businesses that thrive and bring you economic wellbeing
- Set priorities which will allow the police to deliver a service tailored to your community
- Keep you informed and tell you what can be achieved.
For those in the police this means I will:
- Help you to prioritise the public and put them first in your daily duties
- Support you to deliver an equitable service to the public
- Support your passion for policing not paperwork
- Challenge future financial cuts and enlist the support of political parties to protect the future of West Midlands Police
- Keep you informed and tell you what can be achieved.
